Care City Earns Nomination for UK Social Enterprise Tech for Good Award in Partnership with Feebris and Havering Health

·     The nomination recognises our partnership with the innovation centre and the GP Federation, through which we deployed our technology across 30 care homes

·     The Tech for Good category highlights the successes of social enterprises that leverage technology to achieve social impact

·      A recent economic impact assessment of our work in North-East London found savings of £500,000 per 1,000 patients

London, 11 September 2023: Feebris, the AI-guided virtual care platform, is excited to announce today that our partners at Care City, the non-profit innovation centre specialising in healthy ageing and regeneration, have been nominated for the prestigious UK Social Enterprise Tech for Good Award. The nomination is testament to the impact of the partnership we have created together with Care City and Havering Health, a federation of 41 GP practices, helping to deliver timely interventions to those in need.

At Feebris, our mission is to empower community users to carry out clinically reliable health assessments and evaluate risk outside the traditional hospital setting using decision-support algorithms. Our system is currently deployed across over 100 sites in the United Kingdom, spanning care homes, primary care facilities, community nursing and virtual wards.

In close partnership with Care City, we successfully implemented our technology in over 30 care homes in North-East London. The impact of our work was recently highlighted by an economic impact assessment conducted by the York Health Economics Consortium. The study estimated that our technology led to substantial savings of £500,000 per 1,000 patients, enabling early detection of deterioration and preventing unnecessary hospital admissions, helping to create capacity for the system.

The UK Social Enterprise Awards will take place on 30 November in London. The Tech for Good Award category recognises the successes of social enterprises that use technology to drive social impact.

Elina Naydenova, CEO and Cofounder of Feebris, commented on the shortlist:

“We are delighted that our partners at Care City have received this well-deserved nomination for the UK Tech for Good Award. Care City played a crucial role in the successful deployment of our technology across North-East London, and we are very proud of this work. The recent economic impact assessment from the York Health Economics Consortium highlighted its significance and potential scalability within healthcare systems. As we continue our commitment to improving access to healthcare through innovation, we look forward to future projects together.”

Matt Skinner, CEO of Care City, said:

“It can be a struggle getting elderly residents in care homes the healthcare that they need in a timely way. This can lead to costly hospitalisations, normally resulting in worse health and care outcomes, that earlier intervention could have avoided.

“We teamed up with Feebris, an AI-powered mobile platform for community-based diagnosis and monitoring, and Havering Health, a Federation of 41 General Practices in the London Borough of Havering, to implement virtual care technology in 30 care homes, supporting the health management of approx 1,000 residents. We’re delighted to have been shortlisted for this award and hope this recognition may inspire further investment to support care homes and their residents.”
